Christmas Gift Guide

Did you remember to put your clocks back last weekend? Yes, we’re now well into the last quarter of 2020 and, what a tough old year it’s been! I’m sure most of us will be glad to see the back of it and are hoping that 2021 will bring us better fortune. In the meantime, the countdown to Christmas has begun and, with Coronavirus restrictions still in force, it’s going to be a very different celebration this year. Whether you’re able to be with your family in person or just via phone or video, you may be feeling that you want to make this Christmas an extra special one.

Chocolate is a traditional way to say ‘I love you’ and is a gift that can be shared, even if not in person. One of our customers ordered two identical bespoke boxes of truffles - one for herself and one sent direct to her sister, whom she was sorely missing during lockdown. They ate their truffles together whilst having a good old catch up via Zoom and said it made them feel close while apart. What a lovely idea!

If you’re looking for something special to gift, for your family festivities or as a treat just for you, here’s a brief guide to some of our creations to help you choose.

Advent calendars for grown ups

We all know at least one adult who gets even more excited about Christmas than the kids. They start posting ‘Elf’ memes in September and have their decorations up by November. Here’s the perfect pre-Christmas gift to help them tick off those sleeps! These advent calendars come in two sizes and have a different truffle or chocolate behind every door. Choose the twelve day calendar shown in the photo or, the twenty-four day calendar and have it sent direct to your favourite Christmas lover. Available to order now for dispatch in late November.

For the gentlemen

I know from experience that these chilli and tequila truffles are particularly popular with the men folk and we often send them out as gifts for husbands, brothers, Dads and more. We offer mild or hot as standard but, if you want extra hot, just ask.

Yes, ladies love these, too!

For Grannies and

Aunties

Rose and violet flavours are not as old fashioned as you might think. These truffles are something a little different and are often enjoyed by ladies of taste and discernment! We also make rose and violet fondant creams.

For Grandads and

Uncles

When I take marzipan to events I often hear customers make comments like “oooh, my Dad loves marzipan!”. I love it, too so, developing my recipe was pure joy for me (and my volunteer taster, I believe!). We make pistachio marzipan (shown in the photograph) as well as traditional almond marzipan.

For the kids (big and small!)

Who doesn’t love a hot chocolate when it’s cold and miserable outside? Just stir these hot chocolate spoons into hot milk for a rich and comforting drink made with delicious Belgian chocolate. The dark chocolate spoon is dairy free.

I’m in danger of adding our entire shop to this blog so, I think I’d better stop here! I do hope this has given you some ideas and inspiration. Everything in our shop can be ordered now and we’ll make and dispatch it as close to Christmas as we can to ensure everything is fresh and will keep as long as possible.
